The following checklist is your first homework assignment of the design process and is not an exhaustive list of the types of pages possible. It is simply a guideline to help you determine the extent of information you want for your online presence besides giving you an idea as to the number of pages your website will need. Artistic decisions such as colors and layout will be determined later.

Home Page
Every website begins with a Home or Index Page. It is the doorway that visitors enter through to access the content of your presence online. Along with a company logo or banner it normally includes an opening or mission statement with navigation bars that inform your guests of your website's content and purpose.

Table of Contents Page
Gives your visitors a one page at-a-glance overview of your website with links to each of the pages therein. This is especially useful for larger sites.

What's New Page
Informs your visitors of any changes or additions you have made to your website. It may also include links to a Promotion or Special Offers Page.

Profile or Biography Page
Personalize your website with a short biography or profile page. You may want to feature an "Employee of the Month" or the biography of your organization's founder.

History Page
How about giving your visitors a little background about your business? How, why, when and where it started. You might include your company's projected growth or your ultimate plans for global domination.

Services Page
Similar, but not necessarily the same as a Product Page. For example you might sell jewelry but also offer a Jewelry Repair Service.

Product Page
Selling something? Give a detailed description of your merchandise with a Product Page or Pages. Ideally, you will wish to include a photo or graphic image of your product which can be included on the page with relevant pricing and item description information.

Employment Opportunities Page
You might be looking to attract energetic and enthusiastic people to your business. Why not show them how? List the positions you are looking to fill with the appropriate requirements and contact information.

Promotions Page
This would include any Sales, Promotions, or Special Offers you would want to make your customers aware of. You might even wish to include an online coupon which your website visitor could print out.

Schedule of Events Page
Does your business or organization have a schedule of imminent events? Perhaps project deadlines, upcoming seminars, business trips or the annual company picnic?

Contact Information Page
Nearly as vital as a Home Page, the Contact Information Page informs your website visitor how to contact you. Be sure to include your Email address, Mailing Address, Phone number, FAX number, availability, product support etc.

Press Release Page
Feature articles or links to websites where your business or organization has been featured in the press. Makes a great impression on visitors to your site.

Search Page
Enables visitors to search your site for a specific word, item, or product. Not absolutely necessary, but very visitor friendly and especially appreciated by guests in a hurry!

Pictures Page
Perhaps you wish to display photographs of a recent organization event, company outing or seminar with appropriate captions.
Links Page
Might include links to related websites on the Internet or a few personal favorites.
Other
